Giant CACFP Birthday Card Created by the Community on Capitol Hill

We are making a 4ft mosaic 50th birthday card created by images from all around the diverse community of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to share with Congress in celebration of the program's successes over the years.  It's also a timely reminder of the impact the program makes on communities across the nation.  For more about our Giant CACFP 50th Birthday Card, visit our website.

There's a good chance, that unless you participate in the program, you've never heard of it and don't know that the CACFP feeds hungry children, provides economic supports and is an important element of childhood obesity prevention.  In 2017, through CACFP, 4.4 million children were served billions of meals.  It's working in your community, right now; in child care centers, family child care homes, afterschool programs, homeless shelters and Head Start programs.  For more about the CACFP, visit USDA's website.

The National CACFP Forum works to perfect, protect and promote the CACFP, this necessary element of child nutrition in early education, afterschool and homeless settings.  This means that we work with the community, congressional members and the United States Department of Agriculture to ensure access to meals and nutrition education through the CACFP is as widespread as possible.  For more about the National CACFP Forum, visit our website.
